TOK Essay Title #6 Tips (for every year, actually)
Your conclusion is where the marks are hiding.
Most students treat the conclusion like a victory lap — restate everything, then collapse. Wrong. The conclusion is the most powerful part of the whole essay, and it's the part students mess up most. Don't summarize. Take a position. Tell me what you actually think now that you've argued both sides — and tell me why you think it even though the other side has a point. That's the move that turns a 6 into an 8.
Answer the title, not the topic.
This is the number one killer. The IB doesn't want an essay about science, or about art, or about ethics. It wants you to wrestle with the exact words in the exact title they handed you. Every time you drift from that wording, your marks slide. Print the title. Tape it above your desk. Read it before every paragraph.
